Take Left

With horns honking and roads blocked, Monday morning was once again a difficult start. Leaving the house early to get back to her Sisyphean life she hopped onto her Vespa to take a right in her life. Where every decision was in precision and every step was given much thought, she achieved everything she ever desired for. Once again she was back in her office, with same people and same cubical, similar job and similar ways; she thought, “This is not the life I wished for.” Stuck in a vicious circle of life, she looked out of the window. Beautiful autumn was in it’s mid where leaves detached themselves from the tree and were flowing with the wind before they die, birds were dancing before they had to hide from the gloomy winter.

“They know when to unfasten themselves so as to enjoy life, to escape the winter of their life. I wish I could do the same before I die.”

The phone beeped and she once again got busy with her work. But this thought remained with her throughout the day.

While returning back, her phone once again beeped and at the same time, the traffic signal turned red. Was universe conspiring against her monotonous life? Or rather I should say when we want something we tend to find possibilities and indications to justify our desires and everything appears as if it is the sign from the universe asking us to follow our heart. She ignored her office call and took a left. Instead of going home she went down the lane to have a coffee. To find a new purpose in her life she glanced at everything and everybody to get a sign. Nothing came straight that evening and she was still stuck in-between her mind and her heart. After a few hours of juggling with her thoughts and emotions, she decides to go back home. On her way she thought of something, thing that she thought she would never do. Next morning she took her first leap of faith.

That morning had a different melody. Unlike the melancholy of everyday life, this sunrise brought with itself chills of a new beginning. She backpacked her essentials to unravel the forbidden roads. Early morning she took her passport and left the hurly-burly to soothe herself in the midst of clouds. Flying for almost 2000 km she landed in the city of clouds. In the extreme east of the country, she found her solitude. Everything she was looking in her regular life, she found in her exile. The waterfall, the clouds, the valley, the mountain, the air and the roads told a story she carried with herself deep down in her heart. With air so pure she filled herself with all the fervor to the core. Making her way to the unknown destination for the first time she relished every step and learned with every turn. Meeting new face and articulating with new voices she looked at life through the prism of her eyes. Some of them had small and some big but they all had a dream and reason to live for the new sunrise. Sitting on the edge of the mountain she looked out for new reason only to realize that the reason and dream she has is the desk she left a few days back. Not the life but the stress in life made her take a left in life. Living away and running from her desired life she felt happy but just for a while. Had she not taken a left in life she would not realize the beauty in the burden of life.

Memories and dreams knock our door when we try to run and shut them behind the door. She felt something missing when she was away from her desk. For living a life with prolong vacation is nothing but a mirage in our destination. Realizing the message from the universe above she decides to take a right again and made her way to the place she actually belongs.
